An Craobh Airgid
Kilkenny Druidry college offers weekend residential Druidry workshops. The Druid way can be thought of as having three strands - Bard, Ovate and Druid. Each combines with the other to increase capacity as do the fibres of a rope. Each strand has 4 weekends per year. Participants start on the Bardic strand, then they can choose to continue to the Ovate strand and then on to the Druid strand.
The Bard holds the strands of story-telling, mythology & history seeking. All the arts can be engaged in this work. Exploration of deep meaning is the intention though entertainment is also found on the way.
The Ovate holds the healing strand engaging curiosity, divining with intuition and chance events. These attitudes & skills can be added to various modalities of therapy such as herbalism, homoeopathy, acupuncture, nutritional suggestions, medicine & psychotherapy. The Ovate’s intention is towards a holistic approach to healing.
The Druid holds the strand of ritual, philosophy & ethics. Opening & holding a ritual space increases the special-ness of the work to follow. Philosophy is the love of thinking including rationality which balances the mystical. The ethical approach is expressed in the Druid’s prayer. For example, in the part that speaks to " the love of all existences". The druidic way is to explore each strand of experience along a continuum from the most intuitive & mystical to the most rational & material, e.g., ancestry & history can be explored using imagination & intuition as well as DNA studies & study of contemporary sources.
Our Druidry course is called An Craobh Airgid - The Silver Branch.
There are many mythological stories about the Silver Branch—in all of them the silver branch assists us to see non-ordinary reality behind the ordinary.
The Druidry course will be held over 4 residential weekends per year.
The first year concentrates on the Bardic experience. We invite you to an exploration in a small group while holding beliefs lightly.
This course will include experience of:

· journeying/guided imagery,
